Starr B. Merritt, a member of Union Baptist Church in Stamford, Connecticut serves as the Vice President of the Women’s District of the Judah Baptist Association of the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention.
Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert W. Perry, she faithfully serves her Union Baptist Church family as a Trustee and as a Greeter.
She also continues to serve her community in several capacities, including: president and chief executive officer of the Butterfly Project Fund, a non-profit organization she established in 2008 which raises money to provide scholarships; past communications chair for the Stamford NAACP for six years; and former member of the tax assessor’s board of appeals for the City of Stamford where she served for five years.
Trustee Merritt is a graduate of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut with a Master’s Degree in Psychology (Thesis: The success rate of children/teens in counseling whose identified family members also attend counseling).
