Vernell Brandon, a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, South Norwalk, Connecticut was born and raised in Rondo, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Deacon Jefferson and Peoria Bolden, and is married to Deacon Robert Brandon.
Together, Deaconess and Deacon Brandon have two sons, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Rendering faithful and committed service to her Calvary Church family, under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey A. Ingraham, she is currently the President of the Deaconess Ministry and is an active participant in many ministries within the church. Her service has included a twenty year tenure as Superintendent of the Sunday Church School, during which time she was able to, with the help of God and a dedicated staff, generate enthusiasm for Sunday Church School and double its attendance. She continues to be a committed and active member of Sunday Church School and leads by example with her regular attendance every Sunday.
Deaconess Vernell Brandon is also currently serving as President of the Women’s District of the Judah Association of the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention. She has served as Treasurer of the Congress of Christian Education and has been actively involved with many of the Leadership Workshops and Conferences.
Deaconess Brandon retired from employment in 2009 and now spends time volunteering in a number of areas within the Norwalk Community, tending to the needs of senior and homebound residents and visiting with and enjoying her grandchildren.
Deaconess Brandon continues to serve Christ, and her faith in God is unwavering. Her favorite scripture is……
